Last night just two weeks before the event, nearly the entire Place to B team was together to share a well-earned moment of relaxation. We were having fun when we heard the news; needless to say that we are all in shock, but unharmed.
First and above all, we want to thank each of you for your messages. We received many, via email or social networks, asking for news. Each of us has people around us who are touched by the attacks. Your messages go straight to our hearts. We need to believe again that the world is not sinking … “the old world is dying away, and the new world struggles to come forth: now is the time of monsters.” said Antonio Gramsci. It is therefore necessary for us, more than ever, to stand firm and face forward, all together.
The holding of the COP21 has not been questioned yet but negotiations certainly will take place under high surveillance to ensure the safety for the arrival of Heads of State and the security for all the various gatherings planned and for those attending. We will know more in the coming days and will do everything possible to ensure that Place to B Place is held under the most secure and the best possible conditions.
It is very difficult of course to find the correct words. But we will share with the community all available information and continue to build an open event, one that is positive, and above all optimistic. Our ambition from the beginning was to provide a meeting place, for gathering and sharing. We are the builders and the carriers whose common challenge is to send other types of messages, than those, which are addressed to us.
We want to tell a new story, for the climate but also to fight against all those who want to prevent our societies from moving forward on a better path. Despite the sadness and fear, we must reaffirm our values, with an even stronger voice, and thank you once again for your continued and unbroken support.
